✊ Calp joins the regional campaign against sexual exploitation and human trafficking of women and children.

16 September

📢 On the occasion of the International Day Against Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking of Women and Children, commemorated on September 23, Calp City Council, together with the MACMA Regional Equality Network, launches an awareness campaign on trafficking for sexual exploitation and the consumption of prostitution, aiming to raise awareness about a form of gender violence that may seem distant but happens every day.
📊 The campaign shares data to help understand the scale of the problem:
🔹 According to Save the Children (2025), 24% of underage victims of sexual exploitation were contacted through OnlyFans, and 36% through sugar dating websites.
🔹 1 out of 4 men in Alicante admits to having consumed prostitution, according to a study on prostitution consumption and masculinities in the Marina Alta region.
🔹 During 2025, law enforcement agencies rescued dozens of women enslaved by sexual exploitation rings in the Marina Alta.
