🗳️ Calp Town Council launches the “Your Voice Matters” campaign to encourage registration and renewal in the municipal roll.
📢 The campaign aims to promote both the registration of new residents and the renewal of existing entries, especially among the foreign population.
The initiative, subsidized by the Alicante Provincial Council, includes the distribution of 5,000 four-color pens to everyone who registers or renews their status.
📋 The Town Council reminds residents that many believe they are already registered or are unaware that foreign residents must periodically renew their registration: EU residents and non-EU residents with long-term residence permits must renew every five years, while all other foreign residents must do so every two years. It is estimated that hundreds of residents are not counted by the National Statistics Institute (INE) because they have not renewed their registration.
📝 The process is simple: just visit the Citizen Service Office on the ground floor of the Town Council. To register for the first time, you need to provide property deeds, the latest IBI tax receipt, or a valid rental contract, along with your DNI, passport, or NIE. For renewals, you only need to present your DNI, passport, or NIE.
✅ Being registered provides access to numerous benefits, such as Home Care Services, Telecare, Senior Center services, reduced local bus fares, and free Spanish courses for foreigners.
